Fine Art Services
Our art service is comprehensive. It covers transportation, storage, domestic and international shipping, full value protection, and installation and display of art. Installation is carried out in tandem with specialist firms with whom we enjoy long-standing relationships. We have the experience, resources, and partnerships needed to manage fragile pieces, contemporary works with unconventional dimensions, as well as sizable collections consisting of numerous and variegated pieces.
Planning, Coordination, Installation
Planning
Planning is essential to transporting art. Whether moving one piece or an entire collection, we perform preliminary site visits at both the pick up and delivery locations to assess any specific site constraints and to determine with our professional installation partners an appropriate approach to installment. Items are photographed from multiple angles to document their current condition and disposition.
Coordination
We coordinate tightly with all parties (galleries, auction houses, and recipients) throughout the planning and execution phases to ensure the security and integrity of the physical works.
Installation
When installations are required we work with specialist installation firms with whom we enjoy longstanding relationships to ensure proper “last-meter” handling.
Packing & Crating
Careful packing and the establishment of benign, safe conditions in the transit environment are critical to transporting high-value works of art.
We evaluate each item based on its dimensions and constituent materials and consult with the client before deciding on a final approach.
We have deep experience packing and transporting irregularly-shaped and delicate items, including those made from sensitive or non-conventional materials such as fluids, organic matter, and finespun fabric. Packing materials are crafted to specification, with cardboard, acid-free tissue, polyethylene, or other materials, as appropriate, incorporated to ensure and preserve the condition of the pieces.
Technology, Tracking, and Security
We have a modern fleet of trucks outfitted with the latest tracking and security technologies. Each vehicle is equipped with high-security locks and mobile communications, as well as satellite tracking systems that pinpoint precise vehicle location at all times.
Air & Sea Freight Transport
Over the years, we have gained significant experience in the transport of artwork by sea and air freight. Through well-established working relationships with airlines, shipping agents, and local handling organizations, we can ensure the timely, safe delivery of artwork to overseas destinations.
Air Freight
We pack and crate items at pick-up locations, help manage customs documents and other legal particulars, coordinate air shipment as well as with overseas partners to manage receipt and delivery to the final destination.
Sea Freight
Sea freight offers an efficient and cost-effective option for moving sizable collections as well as large, individual items with non-conventional dimensions. This option is also advised when time is not a principal consideration. When appropriate, temperature-controlled containers can be employed to ensure a safe and proper transport environment.
Art Storage & Viewing Facilities
We offer specialized, tightlysecured storage facilities for works of art. Our climatecontrolled facilities are equipped with sophisticated fire detection systems, the highest specification intruder alarm systems, and digitally recorded CCTV, all with central station surveillance and control.
Private Room
Our Private Room facilities are secure and climate-controlled. They are most recommended for clients that require more regular access. With a variety of room sizes, clients can easily upgrade or downgrade as their needs evolve.
Viewing Area
We have viewing areas at our facilities that can be used to view, display, photograph, and report on the condition of items.
Online Photographic Inventory
Through custom photographic inventory management software, we can provide storage customers with an online visual inventory of their items, accessible via computer, tablet, or smartphone. When requesting a delivery, clients can easily select the desired items.
Full Value Protection
Morris Moving offers flexible liability arrangements, including full value protection for all items while in storage and during transport to and from our facilities. Clients can also elect to self-insure if they have separate policies that already provide the desired coverage.
